band bio
So heres our biography
The band started back in 8th or 9th grade . At the time the band line was Alex PD (hardcore drummer) George Powell( crappy singe) and Tim Masson (pervert/bassist) at the time the band was known as mangas. The bands first performance was at chat fest organized by the legendary Jurassic Pete, a battle of the band type event held at school. it was at this show that the 20 or so people in the crowd were able to able to hear the bands first compositions "diarrhea" and "exams suck"(we still have a copy of those if anyone's interested)
Unfortunately it wasnt long after the bands formation that Tim was "asked to leave" the school and so a new bassist was to be found. Along came Kate and with her arrival spank mango was created! She also became the best looking member of spank mango being the only girl until she was joined by Ben "dover" Peterson as another guitarist and singer.it was at this point that the band started playing more shows and developed a fan base of about 3 or 4 7th graders and pd s sister. At the end of 11th grade however Kate had to move back to the USA ( poor girl)
Over the summer, the band wrote a few songs with the idea to record a cd, this didnt happen till 10 months later when a 7 track demo called Chung was recorded in four hours by James Selby (dood!). During these 10 months the band was joined by the crazy/tattooed/pierced and talented bass player from Japan, Shinobu, shes the bassist you here on the demo. The band played several times over the summer at school events, chat fests, talent shows, kermesses, Halloween party's and 8th grade birthday party's( oh yeah!) Once again the band lost a bassist when Shinobu had to move back to Japan, so along came Fred "sweaty spaghetti" Olivierri who plays some serious aggressive bass with us now.In case you were wandering; Tim also got expelled from his new school in Scotland, for indecent exposure and then got expelled from his new school in England because he was spreading a rare and dangerous case of testicular acne to the other students and then got exiled to Canada. When he cam back from canada he lived in geneva ( post cafe) for 5 ish months, now hes in ehgland again. Kate now plays in a country and western band called "Kate and the cool crooners".there cool.
I haven't heard from Shinobu since she left ummmm.
